Modu

800 SKUs, on-model, over one weekend.

A multi-brand marketplace turned a backlog of 800 flat-lay listings into consistent on-model imagery in one weekend — no studio, no models, no reshoots.

The challenge

Modu is a multi-brand fashion marketplace with thousands of third-party listings. Sellers upload whatever photography they have — mostly flat lays and mannequin shots — so the catalog looks inconsistent and converts below its potential.

Commissioning studio shoots for every SKU is impossible at marketplace scale, and chasing sellers for better images never worked.

02

The approach

Modu wired Piktor into its catalog pipeline:

  • Pull flat-lay images from new and existing listings through the API.
  • Generate on-model imagery against a house model set so every brand looks consistent on the storefront.
  • Batch thousands of SKUs, QA in review, and auto-publish approved images back to listings.
  • Pay per image — effective cost around ~$0.20 — instead of per shoot.

In one weekend the team cleared a long-standing backlog.

03

The quantified result

Refreshed listings went live across search and category pages the following week.

  • 800 SKUs turned into on-model imagery in a single weekend.
  • 40× faster than the catalog team's previous per-listing process.
  • +24% listing click-through on refreshed products.
  • ~$0.20 per image, fully owned, with no reshoots.
Our catalog finally looks like one store instead of a thousand. We processed a weekend's worth of listings that used to take a quarter.

The outcome

On-model generation is now a standing part of Modu's onboarding — every new seller's catalog is normalized before it goes live.
